Cloths dryer machine

If you are like most people, you do laundry once a week or even multiple times a week. With your busy schedule or lifestyle washing and drying should be a one, two, three process. After all, laundry is just something you need to do in between your busy activities or schedule. It should be easy and quick. But what happens if this changes? Suddenly your clothes aren’t drying like they used to. Doing your laundry  has suddenly taken up more time than it used to.  Well, there is only one solution to get back to business, and that is to schedule a much needed dryer vent cleaning.  You may be asking the question, “Wait how do I know I need this?” Lets look at five signs you shouldn’t ignore that are telling you that you absolutely need a dryer vent cleaning.

Let’s start with number one,  drying takes longer. Like the scenario mentioned above , no one likes when things take longer than they are suppose to.  No one wants to wait over forty minutes for their clothes to dry. That’s crazy. Why is it taking so long? It is a safe bet to say that the dryer vent is clogged. When a dryer vent is clogged the dryer can take up to three times longer than it normally does to do its job. Moist air has no where to go if this occurs. This wastes your energy and your utility bill will increase unfortunately. No one wants that to happen.

The second sign you should look for is that of lint making an appearance from the outside vent opening. Air from your dryer exits your home from the outside vent opening of your home. If you see either debris or lint coming from the opening,  your dryer vent needs to be clean.  Also your  systems air flow could be restricted or blocked if you notice that the vent opening’s duct flap doesn’t open when your dryer is on and functioning.

On to number three, a hot dryer. This is the third sign you should not ignore. Does your clothing feel like its unbelievably hot? This isn’t a good thing.  This happens because your dryer isn’t able to get rid of hot air due to being clogged.  The dryer itself may also feel very hot at each completion of a cycle.

Is something on fire? The fourth sign you need not ignore is a burning smell.  If you notice a burning smell while drying your clothes this can be very dangerous.  Most likely its lint. Dryer lint is very flammable. Again, lint can and has caught on fire. The burning smell can be the lint being trapped or the hose of your dryer vent becoming unusually hot.

Last but not least the last sign is if you haven’t had your dryer vent cleaned in a year. This is something that needs to be done for various reasons.  Not only will you save on your utility bill, have your dryer working faster than before but will be able  to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning and a potential fire from happening.  The five signs mentioned earlier in this article can not be ignored.  Schedule a dryer vent cleaning with us. After we thoroughly clean your dryer vent and address any additional issues their might be you will be able to get back to your everyday lifestyle without worry. We are here to help.
